Being well-connected to the local music community and knowing where to find musicians will prove helpful in hiring cantors, and being personable with the congregation will prove helpful in recruiting and involving church members. A familiarity with Lutheran hymnody and theology, or at least a willingness to learn, is expected.

Participation in weekly staff meetings is required as well as practicing and other work at your own schedule to plan and prepare for services. This is a salaried position, with a pay range of $24,500-$28,500 per year, determined based on experience.
