Family Promise

Service Sundays

St. John’s is a host site for Family Promise. Once a quarter, we provide meals, housing, and community for one week.

Volunteers provide meals as well as evening and overnight hospitality.

Join us for a Service Sunday, a unique Sunday morning experience that blends worship with service. We join hands on multigenerational service projects that are good for heart and soul!

St. John’s hosts an annual community concert featuring barbeque and great music in support of Family Promise Chicago North Shore. Good BBQ, good music, for a good cause. It's a great time!

St. Paul's Soup Kitchen

Extended Ministries Fund

We support the Interfaith Action Sunday Soup Kitchen, held at St. Paul's

in Evanston. This commitment and compassion helps others enjoy a meal and community during difficult times.

Extended Ministries Fund

At least 5% of our Extended Ministry Funds are shared annually with a variety of organizations. Each year our members vote on which groups align with our Mission, and together, we decide who to support.

Volunteers gather in our kitchen to prepare brown bag meals for those served by The Night Ministry of Chicago. Donations of bread, cookies and cash for sandwich meat and cheese are welcome.

Community Concerts

We love music and we love sharing that with our community. We host an annual, free Holiday Brasstacular, and more. Follow us on Eventbrite to stay in touch and learn about these free concerts.

12-Step Programs

St. John’s hosts several 12-step groups that meet at various times during the day. Alcoholics Anonymous and Alanon both are part of the groups that meet weekly at our church in the heart of Wilmette.

The St. John’s Angel Tree provides Christmas gifts for grade school students. We also fill one or two tables with guests and members at the annual banquet and

benefit auction.
