Youth Education

Children's Church - Sundays at 9:30 am

Children’s Church (a.k.a Sunday School) is offered during our 9:30 am worship service the first and third Sundays of every month. Children begin the service in the sanctuary with their families, and they are led to the classroom after the opening announcements. The second and fourth Sundays of every month are Service Sundays, where children are invited to participate in worship by reading, ushering, passing out bulletins, or assisting with communion. Young visitors are very welcome to attend Children’s Church (parents invited as well)!

First Communion

All youth from 0 to 1000 years of age are welcome at Christ table regardless of teaching. If you wish to have specific educational times for First Communion then please contact the pastor for arranging these times. Youth and parents participate together.

Confirmation

Our Confirmation classes are taught with two other ELCA churches Immanuel Lutheran and Grace Lutheran, both in Evanston. The pastor's from each site take turns leading this experiential learning. They are for 7th and 8th graders, and their parents, on Sunday afternoons from 12:30 to 2:00PM (lunch included). The location changes with the church hosting. This two-year program culminates in being confirmed in worship on Pentecost Sunday.  Contact the pastor for more information on schedule and locations.
